Residence Hall Association – Strengthening Residential Communities at the University of New Mexico
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) at the University of New Mexico serves as the official governing body for students living in campus housing. Every student who resides in the residence halls is automatically a member, making RHA one of the most inclusive and representative student organizations on campus. Through elected voting members from each residential community, student perspectives are brought directly into RHA General Meetings, ensuring that campus housing reflects the needs and ideas of its residents.
At the University of New Mexico, RHA plays a vital role in strengthening student living by creating a structured pathway for advocacy and leadership. Representatives gather feedback from their peers and voice community priorities in conversations that shape the residential experience. For first-year students and returning residents alike, this model fosters accountability, collaboration, and a sense of shared ownership within campus living environments. By empowering students to participate in governance, RHA reinforces belonging and engagement from move-in onward.
Residence Hall Association & Campus Ready: Supporting Move-In at UNM
Campus Ready partners with the Residence Hall Association because a strong residential experience begins with preparation and representation. When incoming students arrive ready for campus housing, they are better positioned to participate in leadership opportunities and contribute their voices within the UNM community.
By aligning with RHA’s commitment to student advocacy, Campus Ready supports families as they prepare for move-in at the University of New Mexico. A smoother arrival allows new residents to focus on building relationships, engaging in residence hall governance, and settling into their new academic environment with confidence.
Through its partnership with the Residence Hall Association, Campus Ready helps University of New Mexico students begin their college journey prepared and supported from day one.
Families can plan ahead for residence hall living by reviewing commonly needed move-in items to ensure a smooth and organized start to campus life.
